To find my ultimate comfortable location to stay in Paris, I used to try a new hotel in a different area of the city each trip. Slowly over time I’ve narrowed it down my perfect arrondissement. I’ve fallen in love with the 6eme, where the famous Café de Flore and Cafe Les deux Magots (having an outdoor addition put on below) are located.

Hotels in this area are rather pricy. So finding a hotel in this location with a great price point takes some savvy shopping. Having tried four different hotels over time, I’ve settled on the boutique Hotel Millesime. Usually I book months in advance to score the best pricing here.

The hotel has recently undergone renovations and the newly updated decor is modern and fits well. Currently there is a temporary check in desk as they look to be still renovating the lobby area. On arrival the staff was warm and welcoming.

The superior twin room I stayed in on the third floor (room 320) was comfortably done in blacks and grey tones with a hint of olive on the walls. It had a small sitting area, a coffee/tea kettle, iPhone dock (I didn’t use) and plenty of available sockets spread throughout to charge guest devices. The room faced the street and the windows could be opened wide to let in fresh air.

The bathroom is roomy and modern with “Grunde” stainless steel fixtures including a gleaming towel warming rack which I loved. There was a full line up of normal shampoos and creams for use. My only complaint was the shower separator which did not prevent water splashing all over the floor.

On previous stays I’ve had breakfast included in the room rate, however I prefer to eat at nearby cafes (see my review of Eggs & Co.). This trip was no exception so I can’t comment on the breakfast spread to know if it’s a good value.
The rate I reserved this trip was higher than I have normally paid but I suggest any traveler reserve in advance to get the best available rate. Aside from the Airbnb I recently tried, this particular boutique hotel is a great find in such a vibrant and wonderful area.
